Great Southern Bank Operational Review Adds Services, Refines Branch Network, More

Like all financial institutions, Great Southern Bank regularly evaluates our operations as part of routine business maintenance. On occasion, these evaluations require a calibration of our products, services and workforce to match changing market dynamics.

This latest review has led to continued growth of the Bank’s Live Teller ATM network, including our first installations in the Des Moines, Iowa, market and a Great Southern Express-branded installation in Ozark, Mo. This technology adoption and expansion, including the recent addition of Greenlight debit cards for kids and teens, and continued improvements to our online banking platform, paired with reinvestments in banking centers like the in-progress remodel of our Indian Hills branch in Sioux City, Iowa, reflects the Bank’s ongoing commitment to meeting our customers exactly where they are.

As a result of this review, we have also made the operational decision to close nine banking centers across Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri, one commercial loan office in Nebraska, and eliminate a total of 66 positions across various company divisions. Great Southern is committed to supporting affected associates by offering comprehensive severance packages, transition services, and opportunities to apply for open roles within the organization. Effective closure dates for targeted locations are noted below; all other staff positions have an effective date of Sept. 30.
