St. Louis County Library has opened a new space inside JA BizTown, the simulated town in Chesterfield where elementary students practice running businesses, managing money and taking part in civic life. Great Southern Bank is underwriting the project. Students working in the library can take on roles such as library assistant, bookmobile librarian, CEO and fundraising manager, while visitors can browse books, borrow items from the Library of Things, and join art and LEGO programs.
“Great Southern Bank has partnered with both JA BizTown and the St. Louis County Library Foundation for years, so sponsoring the new BizTown Library was an easy choice and the perfect match for us,” said Brian M. Davies, Great Southern Bank St. Louis Market President. “It is a fantastic way for students to learn what it takes to run a welcoming, community-first non-profit.”
