Send Money in the Mobile App allows you to show some monetary love to anyone, anywhere, for anything…and it’s virtually instantaneous! A digital person-to-person payment service, Send Money provides an alternate solution to using checks or cash. Distance and time are no longer factors when you send money to an email address or mobile number.

How Do I Get Started?

Personal accounts only; Send Money is not available for business accounts at this time.

  1. If you haven’t already, enroll in Online Banking.
  2. Log in to the Great Southern Mobile Banking App* (view more app features)
  3. Tap “Send Money”
  4. Enroll your debit card
  5. Enter the amount to send
  6. Verify with your debit card PIN number

*Web access is needed to use the Great Southern Mobile Banking App. Message and Data rates may apply, check with your wireless carrier for details. Mobile Banking is available to existing Online Banking users only. All terms applicable to Online Banking apply to mobile banking.

The transaction is processed using your Great Southern Debit Card. The person you send the money to will receive an email or text message letting them know you sent them money. The recipient can receive the money almost instantaneously if they accept the transfer using their debit card. If they accept the transfer using their checking or savings account and routing number, the recipient will receive the money in 1-2 business days.

Yes. Each time cardholders enter their PIN to complete a Send Money transaction, the PIN is encrypted so it never travels across payment channels as your actual, numerical PIN.

No enrollment is required to access Send Money. You must add your debit card to your Send Money profile to initiate payments. The recipient does not need to have an account with the Great Southern to receive the funds.

We do not assess a fee to send funds using this service. We reserve the right to update fees and will provide you with notice of such updates as required by law. The receiving institution may have limits on the number and type of Transfers allowed. The receiving financial institution may also charge a transaction fee. Please note that your mobile carrier may charge you for text messaging. Please check your mobile service agreement for details on applicable fees. We cannot guarantee and are not responsible for the availability or utility of your wireless service. You may be charged fees by your mobile carrier.

Yes. Send Money is similar to a one-time debit card transaction or ATM withdrawal, debiting the funds from your account immediately.

The timing depends on the recipient. The recipient can receive the money almost instantaneously if they accept the transfer using their debit card. If they accept the transfer using their checking or savings account and routing number, the recipient will receive the money in 1-2 business days.

If the recipient does not claim the funds within 10 days, the funds are automatically returned to your account.

The only email or text messages you will receive will relate to the sending or receiving of funds by Send Money.

Send Money is currently only available to eligible transaction accounts within the United States.

Look for these signs that you are in the right place to use Send Money.

  • The PIN Pad displays after entering your debit card number.
  • The PIN Pad opens in the app. There is no redirection to another site or “pop-up.”
  • The PIN Pad is branded with the Great Southern Bank logo.
  • The last four digits of your card number will show on the PIN pad (preceded by 12 x’s).

If you enter your PIN incorrectly, the transaction will be cancelled and you’ll need to create the transaction again.
